The Weld Arms is a historic thatched pub and was originally a row of cottages built in the 1700’s by the Weld family. It became a central part of the village in late 18th Century when the Welds moved the village of East Lulworth outside the Castle walls. It became an Inn in the early 1800’s and is rumoured to have been a popular stop for smugglers.
The Weld Arms, which is a listed building, has recently undergone a makeover (Spring 2013).
