The Will of Aaron Roberts - 15 November 1820


This is the last Will and Testament of me Aaron Roberts of East Lulworth in the County of Dorset Yeoman made and published this fifteenth day of November One thousand eight hundred and twenty Whereas I have by Indenture bearing date this fifteenth day of November instant conveyed All that piece or parcel of land now in my occupation and in Lease to me at East Lulworth aforesaid to Thomas Weld Esquire for the Sum of One hundred pounds to be paid to such person or persons as should in and by my last Will and Testament nominate and appoint Now I do by this my said Will give devise and bequeath the said sum of One hundred pounds unto and amongst my five Children Elizabeth, Ann the Wife of James Merry, Carpenter, Theresa, Frances and Thomas equally to be divided between and amongst them share and share alike And Whereas I have in the hands of the said Thomas Weld the sum of Two hundred and ten pounds the Interest of which said sum of Two hundred and ten pounds I give and bequeath unto my wife Mary for and during her natural life if she shall so long continue my Widow and unmarried And from and after her decease or Marriage which shall first happen I give and bequeath the said sum of Two hundred pounds to my six Children Elizabeth Ann the Wife of James Merry aforesaid, Theresa, Frances, Thomas and Moses equally to be divided between them share and share alike I give devise and bequeath unto my said Wife for and during her natural life if she shall so long continue my Widow and unmarried All that my Leasehold Cottage and Premises at East Lulworth aforesaid now in the occupation of Susannah Decker And from and after her decease or Marriage which shall first happen I give and devise the said Cottage and Premises unto my three Sons Moses Aaron and Thomas as tenants in Common Also I give and bequeath All my Household Goods and Furniture Plate Linen and China unto my said Wife Mary for whole and sole use benefit and disposal And lastly I give devise and bequeath unto my said Son Aaron All my stock crop and implements in Husbandry and do nominate my said Son Aaron whole and sole Executor of this my said last Will and Testament and do hereby authorise my said Son Aaron to deduct the expences incurred by him in proving the same and of my personal estate and effects The Mark X of Aaron Roberts
