Celebrity launch for new butterfly charity HQ

GREEN-FINGERED celebrity Alan Titchmarsh visited East Lulworth to open the new headquarters of national charity, Butterfly Conservation.

It is the largest insect charity in Europe and aims to save wild butterflies, moths and their habitats.

The charity headquarters were formerly based in Colchester and have been merged with a team of 11 conservation staff in Dorset.

Chief executive David Bridges said: "Butterfly Conservation is delighted to have moved its headquarters to Dorset.

"It is the first time the society has had a combined headquarters and it will improve communication among the staff."
